Greetings and welcome to Historical Greytown, the website of the Greytown Community Heritage trust. This site is dedicated to promoting a future for Greytown's heritage. Inside Historical Greytown you will be able to explore our town's history, find places you can visit and learn how we work to preserve the past.

Following our recent AGM the following memebers were elected as trustees for 2007-08 year: Peter Francks(Chairperson) John Abbott(Secretary) Alyson De Boer(Treasurer)Matt Adams, Lizzie Catherall, John Garrity, Jackie Hayles, Will Holmes, Gina Jones, Malcolm Sutherland

The influence and value of the trust continues to be appreciated by an increasing number of property owners and we now have 96 members which in many cases represents families and/or couples.

The annual "Greytown District Trust Lands"
lecture has been arranged for Friday 27
July 2007 at 6.30pm for 8.00pm start.The venue is the Russell Lounge-South Wairarapa Working Men`s Club This year,Gareth Winters (Wairarapa Archivist) will talk on "Early Greytown and its Three Town Halls"





This Site has been developed to spread the good news about Greytown's history and to keep the wider community informed about the work of the Trust. We hope you enjoy your visit and would value any comment you may like to make.
